Joining the Reception in the Pre-Prep
Parents are encouraged to register their children for a place in the Redcliffe Reception class at any time from birth onwards. However, children must be aged four by 1st September in the year of entry.
Children attending the Redcliffe Nursery are given priority over any external entrants on the registration list.
Places are offered following a play-based assessment in the Autumn preceding entry. All assessments at Redcliffe Gardens School are gently selective and are designed to be enjoyable and stress-free events for children.
Nursery assessments are carried during normal lesson times, with parents informed of the outcome shortly afterwards. Places are secured by the signing of an Acceptance Form and payment of a top-up deposit which brings the original deposit paid in line with the deposit paid by external candidates.
Children on our register will be invited to Redcliffe Gardens School for a short assessment. Children are assessed in small groups of up to five children. There is an opportunity for parents to speak to a member of the Senior Leadership Team during the assessment. Parents will be informed of the outcome within two weeks and places are secured by completing an Acceptance Form and paying a deposit of 50% of the term’s fees. The deposit will be retained in full until the pupil leaves, at which point it will be refunded less any balance owing to the School as long as one full term’s notice has been given.
Unfortunately, deposits are non-refundable should your child be withdrawn before entry to Redcliffe.
Redcliffe Gardens School gives priority to siblings in all year groups. However, early registration of younger siblings is essential. Please note there is a registration fee of £150 payable to register siblings for entry to all classes.

Special Educational Needs
We accept occasional SEN applicants but we can only cater for pupils with mild SEN. Children applying to the school will be invited in for an assessment and parents are asked to provide any relevant supporting documents.
