Annual Swimming Gala

On Wednesday Years 1 to 6 took part in our annual swimming gala at Fulham pools.

It was a great afternoon of close competitive races enjoyed by all. Pupils competed in individual and team events to win house points for the chance to win the House shield.  We had some great individual swims with a handful of new school records being set. Stefano set the record for the 25m freestyle at 21.84 seconds, 25m breaststroke at  30.71, 25m backstroke at 26.16s and 50m freestyle at 49.56. Lauren also set the 50m freestyle record at 53.35.

Star awards went to Shintaro and Vir for showing the Redcliffe Values – trying hard, persevering and showing team spirit – and Sofia and Stefano were awarded best girl and boy.

Every swimmer was awarded House points for each individual and relay race depending on their position. Bonus points were also awarded for any new records. Final positions in the House Shield were as follows: 1st place was Willow with 119 points; 2nd place was Maple with 107 points; 3rd place was Oak with 102; and 4th place was Cherry with 90.
