Artistic Impressions
8th July 2021One of the best things about summer is that bright colours can be found just about everywhere you look and our art room was no different with many varied discussions taking place on different styles and techniques this week.
Year 3 made some fun day and night art work, looking at the contrast of colours and shapes in daylight and at night. The class was encouraged to look at the difference between warm and cool colours, shades and tones, as well as texture and shape. Still Life paintings were under scrutiny in Year 4 with pupils practising watercolour techniques by painting their own Matisse-inspired pieces. Meanwhile, in Year 5, the bright and vibrant colours used by the class meant they could create large colourful summer flowers.
