Barnes Wetland Centre

25th June 2021

Last Friday, Years 5 and 6 pulled on their wellies and zipped up their raincoats before setting off for an action-packed day at Barnes Wetland Centre.

The morning began with a Plastic Pollution workshop where the pupils learnt about the decomposable life-span of many products, as well as the numerous initiatives that are being run to help clean up the River Thames. After lunch, everybody explored the area – and by using binoculars in the Bird Hides, were able to see a many different species of birds.

Finally, we made good use of the play area by whizzing on the zip-wire, scurrying through the vole holes, and flying high on the swings.  ‘Twas wet, but fun!
