The Week’s Independent Schools Guide 2023 ‘Great City Prep’

7th March 2023

We are absolutely delighted to have been named as a ‘Great City Prep’ alongside Clifton College Prep School, Bristol, and The Dragon School, Oxford, in the prep school edition of The Week’s Independent Schools Guide. Though beaten to top spot by Clifton College Prep, we are very proud to be representing the London contingent.

At Redcliffe Gardens we definitely celebrate and seek to be part of our local community, whether supporting refugee groups at St Luke’s Church or raising money through our students’ Enterprise Projects. Every week our Year 5 and 6 children join in with the Plogging Club which plogs (jogs and picks up (and recycles) litter) around our local area. As part of their recent English project, pupils wrote to the London Mayor to campaign for better city life and during Wellbeing ‘One Kind Word’ Week children sent cards to the elderly residents at a local care home. As part of their role on the School Parliament, pupils research, present and lobby on behalf of various local charities and the whole school votes to select a main charity for the year: this year Under One Sky which supports people living on the streets of London. The school community gathered produce and donations for the charity at Harvest Festival and our teachers joined the charity’s team in December to walk the streets of London at night to support the homeless people with food and good company.

As well as giving back to our City we also make the most of the fantastic opportunities London has to offer and we organise regular outings to the many museums and galleries on our doorstep including, most recently, The Wallace Collection, Tower of London, St Paul’s Cathedral, Wandsworth Recycling Centre, Westminster Abbey, Science Museum, Natural History Museum, and the London Wetlands.
