Classification of Living Things

In Year 6 pupils have been looking at the classification of living things.

The class have been learning about classification keys – a series of questions that determine an organism’s physical characteristics – to help classify animals and put them into groups based on their characteristics. Students learnt that the further the key is divided, the more you learn about the specimen you are trying to identify.

Using the skills that they have learnt in class, pupils designed and made their own classification keys to sort some sweets into separate groups.
