Fairtrade Fortnight

5th March 2021

From the end of February through to the start of March, Year 1 pupils have been learning about Fairtrade as part of Fairtrade Fortnight.

Students learnt what Fairtrade means, about the individuals who grow our food and drinks and the cotton for our clothes and how they are are often exploited and underpaid. They also learnt about the work that the Fairtrade Foundation does to connect disadvantaged farmers and workers with consumers, promote fairer trading conditions and empower farmers and workers to combat poverty, strengthen their position and take more control over their lives.

Inspired by the work done in class, Julian decided to make some delicious hot chocolate using only Fairtrade products!
