Getting to the Heart of the Matter3rd March 2023
In Biology this week, Year 6 had the messy task of dissecting a heart.
As part of their topic on animals, Students had been getting to grips with the circulatory system and they got to the heart of the matter by dissecting a lamb’s heart. They carefully explored every ventricle, valve and artery, sticking wooden markers down to map out and label the heart.
Year 6 had a lot of fun exploring the heart and it was really useful for them to visually see its structure to increase their understanding.
