Harvest Festival
24th September 2021On Thursday we celebrated our annual Harvest Festival with donations to the Hammersmith and Fulham Foodbank and our first school-wide assembly of the term.
At the beginning of this academic year, Year 6 were tasked with raising funds and saving their own pocket-money in order to buy goods for the homeless. Armed with their pennies and pounds, they visited Sainsbury’s with a shopping list of non-perishable items to donate to our local foodbank. Everyone worked together to budget and buy what was needed such as tinned foods, toiletries and cereals. Year 6 students then made harvest baskets out of small cardboard boxes, tissue paper, ribbon and sheets of brightly coloured wrapping paper to deliver their purchases. Students from across the school were also encouraged to bring in essential items for the assembly making it our most successful harvest to date!
It was wonderful to see the whole Redcliffe community come together to provide such a bountiful harvest to those most in need in our community.
