Historical Figures
12th February 2021At both ends of the school, Redcliffe students have been looking at significant people in history this week.
As part of their Humanities topic, Space and Space Travel, Year 1 have been learning about Neil Armstrong, the first person to walk on the moon. They learnt about his life and his iconic ‘one small step for man’ moment as part of the Apollo 11 mission in 1969. The children then produced a picture of Neil Armstrong on the moon.
In Year 6, students were asked to draw a realistic portrait of Queen Elizabeth I at her coronation at Westminster Abbey in 1559. Using pencil and adding colour to bring out her unmistakeable red hair, the finished pieces were fantastic, and dare we say fit for a queen!
