Imagery and Style

7th May 2021

This week we’ve seen a number of lessons on imagery and style; from photo editing to researching the visual style of Gustav Klimt.

Prep School students learnt how to edit photographs in order to improve them for displays, with a little help from Apple’s iphoto editing programme: Everyone Can Create. Taking inspiration from everyday objects or creating self-portrait silhouettes, there has been a lot of fun in the editing suite.

Meanwhile, Year 6 have been researching Austrian artist Gustav Klimt. Students made thoughtful observations of Klimt’s designs exploring visual elements, including pattern and line in fashion. As budding fashion designers, the pupils were then tasked to create a dress in the style of Klimt with some very stylish results.
