Remembrance Assembly

27th November 2020

The Remembrance Assembly, on Armistice Day, was particularly poignant as we commemorated the anniversary of the ending of the First World War. The children very respectfully paid tribute to all the fallen men and women who gave their lives so that we could enjoy the freedoms that we have today. The children created a beautiful display of poppies in their art lessons and Mr Wayne Martin, our brass teacher, performed the Last Post and Reveille.

Thank you to everyone who donated to this year’s Poppy Appeal; with the support of the school community we raised £288.46 in support of the Royal British Legion. Like so many things this year, the Poppy Appeal 2020 was forced to adapt to the threat of Covid-19. With millions of people across the UK unable to leave their homes to find a poppy, and with collectors unable to carry out face to face collections, we were very keen to lend our support and to sell poppies in school.
