PSCHEE: Making Friends and the Art of Compromise

30th September 2022

PSCHEE (Personal, Social, Citizenship and Health and Emotional Education) helps boys and girls to develop positive relationships with their classmates and friends. Through PSHEE lessons, pupils learn to recognise their own worth, work well with others and become increasingly independent learners.

In this week’s lessons, Year 4 looked at the different ways to make new friends and discussed the concept of personalities and the need for different types of friends. Year 5 were tasked with planning a party in pairs before pitching their ideas to their classmates to plan one big party. Each pair needed to state their ideas clearly and politely and understand that they must sacrifice certain elements in order to make everyone happy, teaching them the importance of being able to find a compromise.
