Redcliffe pupils visit Keats House
16th June 2022On Tuesday, pupils in Years 4-6 visited Keats House in Hampstead.
The house was built in 1814 and was once the home of the Romantic poet John Keats. In1931 it was opened as the ‘Keats Museum and Branch Library’, housing both a public library and a display room of artefacts. The black mulberry tree growing in the garden is believed to date back to the 17th century. Following a tour of the house, the pupil workshop introduced one of Keats’s best-loved poems, A Song About Myself, which will lead to creative writing and drawing activities. Thanks to the sunny weather, we were able to eat our lunch in the garden, and then played a game of rounders on the heath.
