RGS pupils get baking for Refugee Week

This week at Redcliffe Gardens, students have been celebrating the contributions, creativity and resilience of refugees and people seeking sanctuary for Refugee Week.

This year’s Refugee Week explored the theme of healing through creativity and conversations, and RGS students decided that there was no better way to explore this theme than by getting creative in the kitchen and having conversations over tea and cake! Using money raised by the Year 6 in their Spring Term Enterprise projects, students bought supplies to decorate cupcakes for the community cafe in St Luke’s Church. Students also sent messages of love and solidarity with refugees by making posters and cards.

We were told that the cupcakes went down a treat and that the community cafe was thoroughly enjoyed by all who attended.
