Roald Dahl Day
17th September 2021Roald Dahl Day – Monday 13th September
The week got off to an enthusiastic start with everyone celebrating Roald Dahl Day and his wonderful and wacky oeuvre of children’s stories.
Year 1 listened to the story of The Enormous Crocodile. The class talked about the characters in the story and wrote descriptions of the crocodile, using interesting adjectives. They also made Muggle-Wumps, mischievous monkeys, using cardboard tubes, pipe cleaners and googly eyes with some impressive results.
Meanwhile, at the top of the school, Years 4, 5 and 6 displayed their impressive knowledge of the Roald Dahl stories debating which story gets top billing. Can you guess which book won the top spot?
And in the Nursery, the class have been making repeating patterns after reading Eric Carle’s The Very Hungry Caterpillar.
