There was stiff competition on Thursday morning as our Verse Speaking finalists took to the podium with poise and gusto.
After progressing through the Heats, all the finalists were given a poem that they spent last week learning by heart. Students in the senior section were also asked to write an essay from a selection of titles – from ‘If I were an entrepreneur‘ to ’A machine I would like to invent‘ – that had them produce some inventive and thoughtful answers. All the finalists delighted the audience of students, staff and parents with their remarkable memory, intonation of speech and captivating facial expressions.
Special thanks to our judge, Dr Frances Ramsey, Head of our sister school Godolphin and Latymer, for providing positive feedback to all our contestants and well done to every child who presented – you showed great courage and determination!
