Visit to Holland Park Ecology Centre
27th November 2020This week our Reception class visited the Holland Park Ecology Centre where they learned about animals and plants in winter. The Holland Park Wildlife Area features a wildlife pond with a dipping platform, woodland and grassland habitat. The Ecology Centre is a purpose-built environmental education centre which provides a range of outdoor nature-based sessions led by their very experienced education team, all of whom are experienced environmental educators and level 3 Forest School leaders. After an introduction to the Centre the Year 1 boys and girls spent time in the Wildlife Area. They went for a walk looking for signs of winter, before making some clay hedgehogs and building homes suitable for hedgehogs during hibernation. They are all very excited about sharing their new-found knowledge when they next go for a walk with their friends and family.
