Wellbeing Week

20th November 2020

Wellbeing Week at Redcliffe began with a very important message when we all came to school wearing a colourful array of odd socks. Odd Socks Day has been established for several years now and is a day for children to come together to celebrate what it is that makes us all unique, to be kind and accepting of each other’s differences and, most importantly, to be themselves.

The week  involved many wellbeing activities interwoven throughout the curriculum. Our Nursery children enjoyed comparing their odd socks and the boys and girls in Reception recognised each other’s kind actions by recommending each other to receive stickers. Our Year 1 pupils designed their own odd socks and in Year 2 children enjoyed thinking of ways to fill their ‘Kindness Buckets’ and they made ‘Kindness Masks’. Meanwhile in the Prep School our assemblies focused on anti-bullying and the importance of being inclusive and showing kindness and the students took part in lively discussions showing great insight and empathy. The week really demonstrated how a culture of kindness is so embedded and important to our school community.
