Year 3 study the art of Disney artist Mary Blair
21st January 2022Year 3 have started learning about the life and career of the famous Disney artist Mary Blair in their Art lessons.
Mary Blair was an American artist, animator, and designer. She was prominent in producing art and animation for The Walt Disney Company, drawing concept art for such films as Alice in Wonderland, Peter Pan, Song of the South and Cinderella as well as designing the ‘It’s a Small World’ ride at Disneyland. The lesson was based and adapted on the ‘Small World’ concept to create a colourful collage using various shapes.
Pupils had the surprise of Year 6 joining them for part of the session working together and sharing their ideas to inspire the children and give them room for individual expression and creativity.
