The Jewish Festival of Chanukah

Our Year 6 class were delighted to be in the hands of a new teacher for the RE lesson this week, their classmate Susan.

The class have been learning about different religions, creation stories and traditions, Susan planned and delivered an excellent presentation to the class about Chanukah. With Chanukah taking place from the 18th to the 26th December, the presentation was timed perfectly for the class to grow in knowledge and interest about the Jewish festival. Susan’s historical knowledge and expertise on the topic shone through as she showed classmates two menorahs, the special candles for them and the game ‘Dreidel’.

Congratulations to Susan on creating a really engaging lesson for the rest of the class.
